Freshmen Class: Introduction to Industry- 1 year, 1 credit
- Students will be introduced to drafting techniques both board and Auto Cad. We will focus on safety in the shop and cover all the tools. After the safety is covered we will build a large class project that will test the students over the proper use of the tools. A transportation unit will be taught using a CO2 powered dragster or hydraulic powered car that students will design and build in class. Students will also be introduced to construction trades and learn how to wire outlets and receptacles, as well as learn how to lay studs out on plates. If time allows, a second wood working project will be assigned that students must first draft using Auto Cad.
- Drafting- A more in-depth look at mechanical and architectural drafting using both the board and Auto Cad. Students will complete section views and auxiliary views as well as design a car and create a drawing from parts. Dual Credit through Kaskaskia College.
- Mill Working- A more in-depth look at wood joints, stain and polyurethane applications, and advanced tooling.
- Building Trades (rotates every other year with Drafting 1) 1 year, 1 credit
